Rock Scrambling in Joshua Tree Ntl. Park

An adventurous, off-trail experience in the Mojave Desert!

  • 116 US dollars
  • Joshua Tree National Park

Service Description

Scrambling is an incredibly fun and rewarding way to explore the wilderness. Sort of like hiking, but more extreme, scrambling is a way of moving over, under, and through large boulders and rock formations. It is done without ropes, and requires the use of hands and arms in addition to the lower body. This activity requires a fair amount of balance, coordination, and guts, especially if it's your first time; but people often surprise themselves on this much-loved adventure! Each outing will be tailored to the ability and willingness of the participants. "Sticky" shoes, such as approach shoes or rubber-soled hiking boots, are strongly recommended. We'll meet in the town of Joshua Tree at the Joshua Tree National Park Visitor Center (6554 Park Boulevard, 92252), and then caravan into Joshua Tree National Park. We will park and proceed into the backcountry for our hike and rock scramble.
